Today we started working on the front fenders. They tires just dont fit, so we had to chop a couple inches out of them to open em up a bit.
In order to be able to close the fenders back off afterwards (to retain a stock appearance), we cut slits 1" apart from each other right up the fender panel and fenderwell, and then seperated the two. Then, bent the fenderwell up, and bent the fender back into the well. Next up will be to drill a pilot hole thru both tangs, and use poprivets to hold them together. Eventually, ill finish off the inside of the well to close up the smaller gaps, and will be installing some form of fenderflare around the opening to give it a more finished appearance.
the last couple pics are mockups with masking tape to give us an idea of how the cage will be built.
