This is something i recommend for just about anybody, really.
I got a pair of ubolts for 5/8" cable, drilled two holes in the back of the coil bucket, slipped the ubolt through, and used it as a secondary clamp to keep the coil in the bucket. It is purposely installed in the back of the bucket, so that i have one clamp on either side of the coil spring. The original strap on the outside of the bucket works ok for a driver or mild wheeler, but if heavily abused wheelin, it will bend, and the coil can pop right out of the strap, making for a potentially messy trail repair. In combination with the stock strap, this helps keep the coil firmly seated in the bucket, no matter what. |
