LED Headlights! As much as i liked my IPF H4 conversion, the amp draw of those bulbs (55w) was a bit much for the stock charging system. Well, i found some LED headlights from Lifetime LEDs that are brighter, and use less power (22w), so after reading good reviews i figured id try em out. Rated at 2000 lumens, 30,000 hour lifetime, and a lifetime warranty, i figured i couldnt go wrong. Since theyre LED no wiring harnes mods are required, altho i am continuiing to run the headlight harness i built for my H4 conversion, since why not. They go in with no mods, you just twist the mounting bracket off the bulb, install in the socket, put the rubber boot back on, and put the bulb in. The controllers (which are pretty small) so inline between the OEM headlight socket and the new bulbs. Thats it. Impressions: They are BRIGHT! A bright white light that covers pretty much everything. Despite how the pics look, my IPF H4s actually did a great job compared to the original sealed beam bulbs, but these LEDs just blow them out of the water. They over the whole road nicely, with no hot spots anywhere, and apparently dont blind oncoming traffic. These should be the last headlights i ever buy for this thing. |
