This trip was an interesting trip, to say the least.
Not only was this my first time out to Paragon, but it was my first 'real' trail ride. I mean, i had gone out 4wheelin before, but not like this.
But, this was also the first time i had ever wheeled with any of these guys, too! Dave had never been 4wheelin before, and the rest of the guys i had never met before. oh, and none of them had ever been to paragon, either!
The roster went down like this:
Me, Dave ('01 dakota: 3" b.l., 285 MTR's), Steve ('86 f150, 3" b.l., 33" bfg a/t's), Joe ('91 f250 285 MTRs), Tony ('80 bronco 3" b.l., 35" m/t's), and Jose ('96 f150 265 yokohamas, or something)
This ride was also interesting because none of us had ever gone rock-crawling! Also, i only had my detroit for 3 months or so, so this was the real 'test' for it. And boy was i surprised! This trip also gave me my first bit of trail damage, as i lost a center cap and beauty ring, and smacked up both of my bumpers a little.
Steve's truck died about halfway through the day, and we had to tow him out of the park. it took us over 4 hours! to do so, and at the cost of his truck's body, too. Of course, at this point we pretty much stopped taking pics, but you can see the 'aftermath pics' by clicking here.
All in all, it was an adventure for all of us, and definitely the start of a big addiction for me! |
