Paragon!
Day two of a weekend trip. This time it was bright and sunny out, and we rode with a bunch of other trucks from Kodiak, as well as a few i didnt know. It was awesome to run with fullsize trucks again!
...unfortunately, when the green blazer got stuck, the 'Burban blew a ujoint trying to pull him out, which wiped out an axle shaft. So the two of them, plus a third truck stayed behind to fix it.
Once that spectacle was over, we moved on to the next couple of trails. Unfortunately, we got caught behind a bunch of H2's and their extremely un-experienced drivers, which really wasted alot of time for us, since they were moving super-slow due to everyone getting stuck. Lee was the unfortunate soul who was stuck with the duty of getting these things through the trails.
Spare Tire claimed another victory, this time Matt A. got his Ram 1500 hung up on his frame and skidplate pretty good while trying to get into the river. After several botched attempts, a broken winch cable(!), and some strategically stacked wood, we were able to get him through.
Thats when we decided it was time to get lunch! I was able to sneak in a group pic, and a pic of the 472 under the hood of that sweet 79 bronco.
After a few more trails we hit the main muddy area, and did some playing in the deep gooey stuff, which, about half a trail later, caught up with me, in the form of a toasted altenator! Fortunately, Paragon staff was cool enough to locate an alt. for me, and Matt A. was cool enough to tow me outta the park, down the road to Texaco, and then drive me out to get it and hang out till i had the truck running again! Thanks man, you rock! |
