October '10: Finally broke my doubler mounts!
Not that i really expected to, but i did anyway. Upon closer inspection, it appears the passenger side mount cracked (note rust on powdercoating) and i never noticed it. Then the load on the d.side mount finally caused it to shear in half on a hillclimb. The entire drivetrain shifted requiring the loosening of the motor mounts to get everything back in line. Im not sure exactly why they failed, but i suspect it was all the hits the 205 has taken over the years. Hopefully the repairs are enough to keep that from ever happening again. |
