With the addition of a 200a alt, the possibility of being able to run a winch became a reality. well, i have had an 8k one for a while now, but nothing to put it in. And the bronco is big enoguh as it is, no need to have a huge thing hanging off the front of it smacking into stuff. Soo, the idea came about to do a multimount setup. Alrady have the hitch in the rear, just needed to make something for the front. Well, there is that 3" wide, 1/4" wall tube serving as a front bumper, so why work something into that? So we did. The short stroy is that i got 2" ID and 2" OD tubing so i could make a 'real' class III reciever. That is, any normal hitch will work in this thing. We notched the tube to allow the rect piece to set into it a bit, to get it higher, and to make it stronger when fully welded. The supports on the side are 1/75", 1/4" wall tubing we had laying around. theyre notched to fit right to the back of the 3" tube, and welded to the back of the reciever. Plenty strong! Overall i like how it came out. Looks pretty good in my opinion, and its about equal with the bottom of the frame rails, and doesnt stick out past them, so it doesnt have any effect on my aproach angle. |
