sliders/steps! So i wanted to build a set of steps for the bronco, but didnt want to hurt my ground clearance if i wook it offroad. So i decided to build the typical rock slider that everyone builds, and then design a step that bolts in place, so i can remove it offroad. A coworker gave me a set of steps i built for his quad-cab years ago, that i cut up to reuse some of the material for a couple different projects. The rail is built just like everyone else does; 2*3 with 2*2 legs. Notched up front for clearance for the fender bolt. The steps are made from 3" angle iron & 1/4" plate. I sleeved the holes in the rails for the steps, so that i dont have to worry about getting water inside the rail. |
