So ive been driving the truck around since i bought it with the spare just laying in the bed of the truck. Usually i just pick it up and mvoe it if its int he way, but its always made me nervous that anyone could just walk up, take the tire out, and leave. So i decided to build a tire carrier, but a little different than most. My design stands the tire up behind my seat, so its not really in my line of sight, but it also hold it ~2" ovv the floor of the bed, so i dont need to take t he tire off the carrier in order to slide a sheet of plywood or sheetrock into the back. Next up is to devise a lock, but in the meantime this will suffice! |
